Our Approach to Environmental Sustainability

At Anomaly Coffee Company, we want to change the way that customers see sustainability for small businesses. Take a look at some of our efforts to reduce our environmental impact :)

Reduce

We already use bags and labels to package coffee, so we wanted to minimize what we use in the rest of our supply chain so we decided to come up with fun ways to do that!

Reuse

Cardboard boxes from the local community for shipping coffee to our customers across the US. In most cases, we have to cut down the boxes and make our own to fit our coffee.

Recycle

We encourage customers to use these boxes for groceries, storage, or even shipments of their own! Peel off any tape and add to your recycling if you cannot find a use for them :)

Donations

We also accept donations, which would be boxes that people have no use for. For example, our friend Jenni, from Stone Forrest Coffee donated a bunch of shipping boxes to us that she couldn't travel with on her move from CA to NC :) We are currently going through those boxes and are extremely grateful for her!

Our Cups

For cold cups, we have been using aluminum cups from Ball and for hot cups, we are using New Roots compostable cups. New Roots is partnered with the National Forest Foundation to plant trees for a certain quantity of cups (qty depends on cup volume). We also work with a local LB organization called Long Beach Reuses to encourage customers to bring their own cups!
